Kai Stoessel, (AKA Desertanu) is a game composer based in Atlanta, Georgia. With a passion birthed from game music and an inherent melodicism, he brings fresh, exciting experiences to the gaming landscape.

From early on, video games have been an important part of Kai’s world. His deep love for the medium led him to major in Computer Game Design and Development at Kennesaw State University. There, he studied music production and composed music for a number of school projects, teaching him the intricacies of collaborating with developers and musicians to reach a common goal.

After graduating in 2021, Kai began working as a freelance composer. He has since contributed to several games including Kelp Keeper, which won the #1 most fun game award at DreamHack Atlanta 2024. He has also completed music for two upcoming albums. Kai is always seeking to work with visionaries and those looking to make their mark on the gaming ecosystem.
